Through the Yarn
Sheets of Jacquard woven fabric whose design changes by cutting floating yarn; that disruption constitutes a design action.
Experiences and memories of separation that have undergone an act of abstraction parallel and mark the disruption as a new act of designing sheets of Jacquard woven fabric manufactured on an industrial loom. The viewer is invited to intervene in the design of the fabric by cutting floating yarn. The interaction between the fabric, the viewer, and the designer constitutes an act of disruption, on the one hand, and ongoing design, discovery, and dialogue on the other.
I live in Israel and this year I graduated with a degree in Textile Design from Shenkar College. My specialty is weaving. As part of my studies, I learned to develop a personal approach that deals with the development and accuracy of materials and products. My main interest is to find and develop a design that invites you to redesign it again. One of the questions that interest me the most is the connection between the dismantling of fabrics and the creation of a new canvas, which enables a new interaction with the fabric.
