BANANA LEAF WEAVES
Experimenting with the introduction of new materials to the textile design industry, Kieu Vu came to the conclusion that banana leaves were the simple answer. The designer incorporated this re-found material when designing floating water urns for the pond in the cemetery at Tower Hamlets in London. The urns are woven with banana leaves, paper yarns, viscose and cotton. The leaves are also dyed with beetroot, making the product entirely biodegradable.
