FLOATING NEST

Francesca Miotti used biodegradable textiles to create baskets and nests. Inspired by a visit to an ecology garden in London, Francesca used a thick Japanese paper as well as jute, raffia, sisal and wool to make her project. She decided on the idea of baskets and nests as a journey home, to a place where she was raised to grow into her own person. In the spirit of her project she puts together her nests like birds put together theirs, by using a variety of different materials in order to have a stable structure
